We stock water worn dark grey slate Paddlestones that are an attractive natural material to finish around water features.  This colour is also sometimes referred to as Blue slate to differentiate them from Plum coloured slate. They are available in two graded sizes 20-50 mm and 50-100 mm and can be supplied in convenient 25 kg poly-bags or in bulk bags holding approx. 900 kg.

Our Paddlestones have been tumbled in water to ensure soft rounded edges and have the most natural of appearances. Lay them around your water feature or if you are building an oriental garden they can be used to create a ‘dry river’ by setting them beside one another in the same direction to represent flowing water.

Description

Our slate Paddlestones are water worn for the most natural look possible, and are supplied in either 25 kg bags, or Bulk bags.

Paddlestones are often used to form ‘dry rivers’ in oriental gardens to represent the flow of water.
This is best achieved by laying the Paddlestones flat, one beside the other, like fish scales.
When set on their edge, the dry stream will appear to flow faster.

This material is available in 20 / 50 mm size, and 50 / 100 mm size.

A 25 kg bag of Paddlestones will cover about half a sq. meter. 
A ‘bulk’ bag will cover about 15 sq. meters laid to 30 mm depth.
